Guest paulhardman Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Hi After entering a few competitions to these 8xxxx shortcode numbers, I have received auto-reponses with no content! Eg I texted BRMB this morning on 83964, got a response from "BRM" with no content in the text. Anyone else having this problem, or know a way to solve it? Also, I thought I'd try and have a look at the raw data which I believe is in the "cemail.vol" file in /IPSM. I can't seem to copy this to my PC... is there a way round this? Cheers Paul
Guest j_Duqueno Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 It could be a 'WAP Push' message they are sending to you. These are bookmarks to WAP sites but they don't work on Smartphones, so they just show as a blank message.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 You need a database viewer to be able to read the cemail.vol file, one is available from www.monolithix.org To be able to move the cemail.vol file to your PC you have to rename the file extension first ie cemail.old then reboot your phone. The phone will now create a new cemail.vol file and the old one can now be copied or deleted. Once you have done this though you will lose all your sms and emails that you have recieved.
Guest hotphil Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Glad it's not just my phone! I got one of those iTagg things for free and it took me a while to work out that it was my phone that wasn't displaying messages right rather than a problem at their end. Be interested to know what's causing it though.....
