Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 Does anyone know of a way to automatically launch a program on the PC when activesync kicks in (phone put on cradle) :?: I use the ActiveSync remote display loads and it would be really good if this could launch automatically when the phone was put into the cradle. Any ideas :?: :?:
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 My SPV3 does that anyway, with ActiveSync 3.7.1. I've seen it in options somewhere on mine, don't know what you're using.

Guest mvsmith07 Posted February 20, 2004 Report Posted February 20, 2004 Do you just want ActiveSync to pop up onto the screen and show you the status of the synchronisation or is it Remote Display you wish to start automatically? If it's just ActiveSync being popped up then it's Options...Rules...Open ActiveSync when my mobile device connects - this needs to be ticked to pop ActiveSync up or not as necessary when the phone is plugged into the PC. If you want another program to start, i.e. Remote Display, on connection of the phone there's not really anything to allow this at the moment. It might be possible to write something, which stays ticking in memory and kicks in on detecting ActiveSync starting or something... I have a desktop shortcut to remote display and then a keyboard shortcut set-up to that desktop shortcut. So, on pressing CTRL+ALT+C at ANYTIME the remote display program can be started.
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Hey guys found it. You can now auto run any program whenever you plug your phone/pda into the cradle. Open regedit on your PC and navigate through to the following branch. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows CE ServicesAutoStartOnConnect Add a string value does not matter what you call it and for the data enter the full path to the program you want to autorun. Hope someone else may find this useful :)
