Backing up contacts without Orange Backup tool?

Is there a way to back up contacts (for free) from my SPV to transfer over to an SPVE100, other than using the Orange Back up tool? The reason why is that according to this website there are loads of problems with the orange back up tool and therefore if there is an alternative way of just copying the contacts that would be great.

If the orange back up tool is the only way of doing this, does anyone know how long it takes to do the whole process of backing up and reinstalling?

From what I've read, the problem is with the Orange Back-up / Restore tool on their website - the one they put together to help people with the 1.6 ROM upgrade.

The Orange Back-up feature on the phone works fine so long as you remember your username / password

How does the back up feature on the phone work as I've never tried using it - is it free? Or is it just the cost of connecting to the internet that you are charged for?

Yes, it's free other than the GPRS connection.

Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to do though.

Pretty straight-forward to use.

Why don't you use the orange backup tool via pass through?

It will just use your pc's internet connection instead of GPRS :)/
