Delivery time from Orange, ordering online.

Hi,

I'm wondering how quick Orange usually despatch phones ordered from

their online shop?

I've never bought a phone like this before but the deal on the E200

seemed pretty good.

I'm already an Orange customer, contract nearly finished but

decided to take out new contract.

Once the order was taken I think it said 2 to 5 days for delivery, do they

usually stick to this?

Which courier do they use for deliveries?

They stuck to it a month or so ago, got a phone three working days after ordering. They use a couple of couriers, normally it's TNT.

Well I am still waiting :)

I've tried calling Orange 3 times now, hung on the phone 30 mins once

and still cannot get through.

This is not the Orange of old I used to deal with about 4 years ago, has their customer service taken a dive recently?

Just got through to them, guess what "systems are down" !

Gave them postcode and they seem to think it has still not gone out.

Have to call back later to get more details when their "systems are up" :)

When you can get though on their systems ask for the courier details and tracking number. This shows item has been dispatched and allows you to trace it. If asked why say taht you need to contact them to ensure you are at home when they deliver! I ordered my MPx200 on a Tue and got it on Fri. Oh yeah, the 3-5 days are working days, obviously!!

Finally got through and the system was up! They said it has gone to despatch but they have no Citylink tracking number as yet.

She said it should be with me in 2 days, lets hope so!

Well it came first thing this morning, nice!

I had to call Orange to have it activated, however the woman I spoke

to claimed to not know much about the promotion offers, free texts etc.

Anyway all sorted in the end, nice phone.

Mike,

Make sure that you charge for as long as posisble. Then regular long charges (14hrs+) for the first week. Makes the battery life a lot longer ;-)

Also run battery fully down until it switches itself off - then switch back on , repeat once or twice to make sure it really is fully run down, then do long charge.

You shouldn't fully discharge Lithium Ion batteries it is not good for them. When a lithium ion rechargeable battery is charged and discharged cyclically, the discharge capacity of the battery gradually decreases, because of the deterioration of electrode materials, electrolyte, etc. The degree of deterioration depends on ambient temperature during charging and discharging. If a battery is charged at a higher voltage than the allowable maximum voltage, the discharge capacity may decrease excessively or battery safety may be jeopardized. Be sure to maintain the allowable voltage and the temperature ranges for charging and discharging.

Why does any of that mean you shouldn't discharge fully? The voltage is controlled by the transformer in your charger surely?

You shouldn't let it turn off but at least get to the final red bar warning before charging it, this conditioning is good but letting it turn off does adversly affect quality in the battery.
