Hi....

Sorry becouse of where i am living[almost in anather planet :)] i dont get these thing right..so if silly question forgive me :D

I saw that e200 and e100 and things like this are sold in very lower price with contract of some phone companies like o2 and orange.....and i think if then you can only use ther sim cards....[and i think this is what called simlocked, huh?]

And i also remember reading somewhere you can make your phones as to use another sim cards....

so why nobody buy that low and then unlock it and then use its own sim.....

becouse i bought e100 some days ago something about $400 i think and here is no o2 or things like this...so it was wiser to buy from orange and then unlock it and......

Right or wrong?

Regards

Yes most phones from networks come locked so you can only use SIM cards from that network but it is possible to have the phones unlocked, how that is done depends on the phone.

You get cheaper phones on contracts because you are locked into the contract until it ends (generally 12 months). You can't simply get a cheap phone and then leave them for dust you have to pay off the rest off the rest of the contract all at once or for the duration. But you still make a saving on the more expensive phones by doing this, you can start on a price plan where the phone is free or really cheaper and then switch to a lower price plan for the rest of the contract.

This is how it works in the UK, could be completely different where you are.

The Orange SPV E100 has been discontinued by Orange. BUT they did a special sale in January of E100 on PAYG for £99. I rang round several orange shops and located some old stock locally. I manged to buy a E100 at the £99 price and got a PAYG SIM with it. Also managed to sim unlock the unit with information gathered from this site.
