Any chance of a game called super collapse being put together for smartphone? It is a addictive pc game similar to tetris e.c.t. and it would be awesome to have it on my phone! PC version can be downloaded here (demo only) I'll leave it with the experts!

super collapse is a nice game, but i dont think it would work on the smartphone, its a bit too fast and frantic use of a mouse, cursor/joystick control wouldnt be fast enough (although would work on pocketpc)

Cheers midnight, at least i know not to get my hopes up now! :)

I downloaded the trial version and there's four games:

Traditional:

Like midnight says, this game practically demands a mouse. I think you'll end up getting really annoyed at the controls, because your brain will be so much faster than your fingers. Maybe you can come up with an idea for an alternate control scheme? Maybe you could give each column it's own number and you would then press a number on the phone to select that column and then you could press the number of the brick you wanted to select? Or you could press the number of the column and then just move up/down normally to select the brick? I dunno, you decide, think about what would be most efficient. Would probably take an hour to do, maybe a bit more or a bit less, depending on the controls.

Puzzle:

This version would work fine as a Smartphone game, but the puzzles aren't random, so you'd need someone to do the puzzles or you could create them yourself and try to solve them when you forgot about them? :) Hm. I guess it would be possible to actually generate them automatically. They wouldn't be very pretty, but you could just "solve" them backwards, starting from a blank page. Hm, that might actually be fun! Would probably take an hour and a half to do with the automatic puzzle generator thing. Would take maybe two hours to do with a puzzle editor so you could make your own puzzles.

Relapse:

Like Traditional, but blocks enter from the top also. Would be even more difficult to control without a mouse. About an hour also, it's really the same as Traditional.

Strategy:

Like Puzzle, speed isn't important here. Would be VERY easy to do and I think it would be quite fun on a smartphone too. 30 minutes max.

When I say an hour or 30 minutes or whatever, that's how long it would take me, since I'm still new to this Windows CE programming. More experienced coders could probably do it twice as fast.

So, what will it be? :)

Space Rain: Either strategy or puzzle would be great, puzzle is my personal fav but as you say would be alot more complicated to put together, but....

..... you've done an excellent job with boxes

Thanks. :)

All right, I'll do both Puzzle (with the automatic generator thing, not the editor for now) and Strategy. I won't get anymore done tonight, but expect to see at least Strategy tomorrow. I might need to think a bit more about the automatic puzzle generator, but I think I have a good idea.

Thank you, thank you, I'm very happy to be here. :)

I decided to do Puzzle first instead, and I kinda finished the first version, but my QC department (that's welshkid for those of you who know him) :) tells me there is a slight pause between the keyboard inputs and the movement of anything on the screen, so I'm not releasing it until I get my phone, hopefully tomorrow, and can see for myself and improve it. Anyway, since I said I would have finished it by today, I sent you a PM, IVOR BIGGUN, so you can check it out if you want to, despite the lag problem. :)

Excellent! :D Just installed it and it runs almost perfect on my mpx, there is virtually no lag on my phone? I like the 'solve puzzle' feature as well :) Go on, post it for everyone to play, you can always post the updated version at a later date

All right then, second in my series of puzzle games with ridiculous names, following "Boxes", here is "Puzzle". The concept is almost the same as boxes, but there's a couple of differences. You can't remove groups of less than three boxes (it's only two in Boxes), and the playing area is much smaller, allowing for much shorter games. Furthermore, Puzzle comes with almost 4.3 billion different puzzles which can all be solved, and if you can't figure out how to solve a specific puzzle, the game can show you.

Any suggestions are welcome, as I will probably try to improve on Puzzle. I must admit, I don't really care much for Boxes, I just did it to see if I could do it. I think Boxes is boring, there's not enough thinking and too much luck. I like Puzzle much better, so if you have any ideas for adding features or modifying anything or if you find any bugs, please let me know. I would also like to know if you think it's too easy or too hard. Maybe the number of colors should be custom and maybe the size of the playing area too? Any ideas are welcome. :)

This will be my last puzzle game for now, my next game will probably be a racing game, GTA-style. (If anyone else is already doing something like that, drop me a message and I'll do something else, there's lots of games left to do.) :)

I hope someone enjoys "Puzzle". :)

Only "problem" is there's already a freeware game called Puzzle

there is...maybe you could rename it to Boxes...Advanced.

There is a racing game in the works, but you can join them to create GTA itself for the smartphone...(i think its in the works)...one more game programmer = progress toward SP domininance in handheld smartphone games

how about SMART COLLAPSE instead! Posted from my SmartPhone!

Good work with 'puzzle' and 'boxes'... the games are very similiar, why not incorporate the 2 games into one exe, and call it 'boxes DX' or something like that... just a thought.

Yeah, maybe, thanks, but like I said, I don't really care much for Boxes, and I think most people will prefer Puzzle anyway.

As for a new name... "Puzzle" was the perfect name for, well, a puzzle. :) No wonder someone else already took it. :) Oh well, I'll have to think of something else. :)

there is a game already out for smartphone called crazy bubbles, which is of a similiar concept as your 'puzzle' ... so perhaps you can rename it 'crazy squares'
