Guest harriscohen Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Has anyone ever used Microsoft Portrait before on the smartphone? Here is the link for the: http://research.microsoft.com/~jiangli/portrait/ Thanks
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 I have, it does work but not very fast. It is best to set the PC end to a smaller screen size as this manages to transfer faster and dont use the auto option ans this always goes to black and white :) You can connect directly to an IP address that is running portrait or if you use MSN Messenger pop your details into Portrait and you can connect to your MSN buddies (if they do not have Portrait a link appears when you connect asking them to download from Microsoft) But not bad for free hopefully the Guys at Agile might make their product Compatible with MSN audio and video directly If you just want to setup a Web cam and watch this on your phone use this instead http://home.wangjianshuo.com/archives/2002...ng_cookbook.htm
Guest yoos Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 There something special I need to do to get Portrait installed on the smartphone? I couldn't get it to install... I finally found the cab file it put on my phone and tried to run that but it said it wasn't made for the device?
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 You don't need the cab file as the install picks out which device you are using, but they have changed it from when I tried it. Download the Portrait_PPC_221.exe this should then connect via ActiveSync to your phone and then start the install from there. I have not really used it much at all and I have upgraded now so I don't know it it works on the E200 yet. If I get chance I will let you know.
