Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 Click on OTA for more info the developers site changed quite a while ago to http://www.developers.orange.co.uk/devzone/ On the link click on signature devices.
Guest Pug Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 I've had my E200 for just over a week now and recently decided to try to install some games and apps. They all installed fine! No unlocking needed. It just told me that the install wasn't 'signed' and if I still wanted to install. Does that mean that all new E200's don't need unlocking?
Guest davo141 Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 maybe not. i've installed alot of software on my mobile, but some stuff still wont install, like cleartype

Guest mikey1234 Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 just a little tip if your service provider is ntl you wont get anywhere mate youll have to go to their website from your phone
Guest martin Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 If the developer site states that a text message will be sent to you then the app unlock should work. If not then try going to Settings-Data connections, Menu-Options and increase the idle disconnect time to 5 or 10 minutes (if its not already).

Guest martin Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 I think most people just select E100 which is reported to work for the E200 also. You might need your PC for it though.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 i have ntl.. why does this stop me? It's never stopped me, I've decerted about 30 times using ntl as I have GPRS disabled.
Guest davo141 Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 i dont get it! :) right... i'm on the 'signiture devices page'.. then onto the e100 page.. then clicked on the Disable/enable the security model. then what!?!? this is what is comes up with (sorry for the length) SPV disable/enable the security model If you wish to develop and test applications for your Windows Mobileâ„¢ device, you will need to ensure that the device's certificate security model, which has been put in place for retail handsets, is disabled. The process of disabling the security model on the SPV Classic and SPV E100 involves disabling the device's restriction on running applications that are not signed with acceptable security certificates. The disable/enable security model process is delivered over-the-air to the SPV Classic and SPV E100. After application development has taken place, you can re-enable the certificate security model on your device for testing your application on a device with certificate security enabled. Once you have enabled the security model, unsigned applications will no longer run on the device. The process of disabling and enabling the certificate security model on the SPV Classic and SPV E100 will require your personal/device information and agreement to terms and conditions. after disabling the security model on your SPV Disabling the security model on your SPV allows you to sign your own applications and install them onto your development handset. After you have disabled the security model on your SPV please follow the process below to create a certificate, then you will be all set to develop applications on the SPV. Connect your phone to your PC via ActiveSync. You must use ActiveSync 3.6 or later - which was included in the box with the phone On your PC, click on Start, Select Run..., type in CMD, and press the ENTER key This should launch a command prompt window Within the command prompt window, type the following text. Remember to press the ENTER key at the end of each line of text. cd c:windows ce toolswce300smartphone 2002tools sp2002dps /create /device After you type in the "sp2002dps /create /device", the following text should appear: Processing files Emulator files complete Device files complete When you download applications they will be signed with your developer certificate but these applications will not run on other production handsets. i tried running the steps.. and nothing has happened to my phone, the 'cmd' stuff doesn't work :D please please help. sorry about all this fuss.
