Guest stormy23 Posted February 22, 2004 Report Posted February 22, 2004 Phone: SPV E100 Rom: 1.6 Orange update When i first got my SPV i un-network locked the phone so that i could use it with a Vodafone pay as you talk sim. After approx 3months the vodafone sim no longer seems to work in the SPV. The vodafone sim just says "no service" but the orange sim works perfect. I have tried a o2 sim and this also says "no service". I have checked through all my telephony settings and everything seems fine. The phone is still un-network locked as far as im aware as it still uses the sim but just gets no reception. This is really wierd as vodafone/o2 get good reception in my area unlike orange. Is it possible the phone has blocked/denied the sim some how?. Any ideas on how i can get it to work with the sim again. Thanks Scott
Guest martin Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 Did you confirm that Telephony-Networks has Network selection set to automatic ? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest stormy23 Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 Telephony has "automatic" setup yet it still wont connect.
Guest squall Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 doesnt really help, but the phone is still networked unlocked, as it woldnt fully switch on other wise. as a thought, try another sim card from a non orange network. And you could try your sim card in another phone to... let us know the results and we should be in a better position to help you.
Guest stormy23 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Turns out the network is down in my area so this is whats causing the problem. Cheers anyway. Scott
Guest squall Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 hmm ive found o say there network is down across most of the country - of course it isnt but it gives them an excuss to avoid a warrenty replacement!
