Guest cjoprey Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 Hi all, I am trying to start up a new Smartphone 2002 modding site, mostly to give a single repository for the "technical" side of theme generation. I've already made a basic start based on the Microsoft information and data gleaned from these hallowed forums themselves. :) I know that the gurus here will probably think it's simplistic, but I'd like to get together information on all the plugins, the complete XML format of home screens, links to useful sites, etc... And BTW - apologies if I've borrowed anyone's information... If you object to me having put something on my site (thinking of people like Midnight, RemyJ and RichieM here...) please do let me know! Why not go have a look and let me know what you think: Smartphone 2k2 Thanks, Chris O'Prey
Guest hawpunch Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 hey good job on the site. its a rather nice beginning to it. are you planning to maybe deposit some themes there? also are there plans to include more advanced instructios on theme making? i think the site would be very useful as it would provide a one stop location for modifying your smartphone without having to page through multiple pages on the forum. thanks.
Guest cjoprey Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 Hi hawpunch, Thanks for the comment. I do indeed plan to flesh it out a lot - I hope to add in tutorials on the development of themes, home.xml files, etc... I am not sure yet if I will be able to host themes - there are a lot of good repositories out there already, and I don't have alot of space to play with unfortunately... But it is encouraging to know I'm on the right track! Regards, Chris.
Guest trewang Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 how exactly do you edit the registry? via the pc or the smartphone? and what file or whatever do you do.. heh i wanna change mad shiet but i dunno how to even get started :)
Guest cjoprey Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Via the SmartPhone works well :) I use a program called PHM Registry Editor (http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/). NOTE: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE THE REGISTRY EDITOR! YOU CAN EASILY DAMAGE THE SETTINGS TO THE POINT WHERE YOU WILL NEED A HARD RESET AND THEN YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHING!
Guest bimbim Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 i have a smart amazing phone, version 3, radio version 1.31.20. pls teach me how to unlock because i also want to use my globe sim. tnx.
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 @bimbim ROM version 1.31 from Smart? Check your Bootloader version (Tricolor Canary screen). If you have 0.98 bootloader, use SPV unlock program to extract the Unlock Code of your unit, jot down the code, insert a non-smart sim card (Globe, Sun Cellular) then when it prompts for an unlock code on reboot, enter the code. To enter Canary screen, hold record button + power button. You will see the bootloader version there. To use SPV unlock: enter canary, sync phone to computer running Win XP operating system, kill wcescom.exe via PC task manager (Cntrl + Alt + Del), click SPV unlock standalone exe, wait for the program to extract the code (0% incrementing til 100%), write the code on a piece of paper, remove battery, insert non-smart sim, power on phone, type unlock code. "Phone unlocked"...congratulations. Posted from my 3210!
Guest BrAGoL Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 @pzee i guess he has a 1.7 rom version based from the 1.31.20 radio version... Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted April 13, 2004 Report Posted April 13, 2004 oops...sorry. i missed the 'radio' word. :D Posted from my SmartPhone!
