Guest kristianmatthews Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 i've created a small video file. Its 2.5Mb, approx 2 minutes in length, 150kbps, 8fps. if i shorten the file to 30secs then it plays great. i can play 30sec clips that run at 24fps/ 300kbps but as soon as i extend them they dont work. i have .vob files ripped from a dvd and using virtualdub to convert to avi and play on pocket mpv. thanks.
Guest zeta101 Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 sounds like you might be using some shareware somewhere, ie it will only process 30 secs of movie to show what its like and then u have to buy the product to get anything above 30 secs. Find out if what your using to rip is shareware (unlilely, cos i think a lot of them are free), and check virtual dub, i assume you are encoding in divx 5.0.2, which shouldnt be the problem...
Guest kristianmatthews Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 i can play longer files if they are much lesser quality. im using smartripper to rip from dvds. im using divx5.1.1. do you think i should use 5.0.2?
