I know, she seemed to think it was a known problem in that it was telling her to send out a replacement phone

I'm not surprised at all by this. This problem was noticed as soon as the phones hit the shelves last year sometime (November?). I got my e200 in January and it buzzes. A mate of mine got one a couple of weeks ago - his buzzes even worse than mine.

I've not been bothered about changing handsets as my buzz ain't too bad and doesn't happen on every call.

Let us know how your replacement goes joe, but as you've already indicated don't hold your breath...

I have been using it this evening and I have the same where it varies between calls, a couple of them have been fine but the others its very noticeable, mmmm which again is annoying. Ill let you know :?

Been looking at some of my old phones - Nokia 6210, that my dad wants - put one of my spare orange SIMs in it, and called voicemail to check it still workd etc - and you know what? it buzzed! ... not to the extreme of the E200, but it was there only not as prominant. So maybe this is something inherent in the GSM system, or Orange's network, and the E200 only emphasizes it.

Mine was a buzzer when I first had it a couple of weeks ago.

Now though it is fine!

Can't explain why. Perhaps the speaker needs breaking-in a bit. I've played a few mp3's through the speaker, maybe that's what cured it.
