Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Not sure if this has been posted before, but i've been messing around with PHM Regedit on my e200 (as you do), and discovered that you can customise your operator name (as displayed on the homescreen etc). If you point your Registry Editor at: HKLM/Software/Microsoft/RIL/OperatorNames you should see that it's empty. If you create a string entry with the name being your operators network number (e.g. Orange are 23433), the operator name for that operator will then appear as whatever you enter in this string value. Cool! :) A reboot is required for the change to take effect. You can find your network code online at a number of sites, like here. P
Guest martin Posted February 24, 2004 Report Posted February 24, 2004 Ha Ha - Great tweak Tried it (with a bad word ) and it works great. Now to think of something worthy for my network name :)
Guest nedge2k Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Sweet. Found anymore? Im still after the illusive low battery value (no not the one in sounds). The one that plays "LB.wav" when the batt goes critical. Anyone?
Guest Coucou Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Bad Word! Just cocked up my phone with this tweak. Before i do a hard reset I'd just like to warn people not to use spaces or other characters. :) Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Er, not true... My 23433 is set to 'Orange - MoDaCo'! P

Guest BrAGoL Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 i like this tweak!:) i set mine with my daughters name... :D
Guest Coucou Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 Well maybe it crashed for some other reason then, but it was bad! Hard reset bad. I've got a good half hour to spend getting the little sod back how i like it. :) it's at times like this that i wish activesync was as good as Palm's Hotsync. On a Palm i'd be able to restore the whole device to its state at the last sync. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest drblow Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 :) :D :D Ha! This is the best thing I've done on my phone for ages!! I love it!
Guest midnight Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 just a little tip, you dont have to reboot, just turn aeroplane mode on and then off again and it will refresh the operator name.
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 I'm now running with... "MonkeyComm"
Guest Will Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 any mpx users managed to do this? Will
Guest kl1wdr Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 This tweak has been on www.smartphonefrance.info for ages: http://www.smartphonefrance.info/operator.asp So not really new to me...

Guest scott2eyes Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Has anyone figured out if there's a way to rename "Aeroplane" mode to something more appropriate for someone who will probably never need to have their phone switched on while in an aeroplane? (I only ask here because it comes up in the same Carrier section in the Homescreen plugin.)
Guest Disco Stu Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Can you not just rename it in Settings, Profiles - edit ?
