wi-fi is similar to bluetooth, wi-fi is used to setting up loacl area networks wirelessly - it provides a (fairly) cost effective way of running wireless LANs are high speed (up to 54mbps where bluetooth only does 1mbps max).

btw, wifi = wireless fidelity

Plus if you're wandering round a city and find a "hotspot" you can use it to access free internet.

well, i am connected to a wifi hotspot and currently is an access point myself. i live in CA, USA, and this is THE place to get connected. it has over 100+ hotspots and lots of them are free (except the ones in cafes and such). roozbleh, if you want to know if there is a hotspot go to Node Database and search if your locale has any. this wifi is a great to use, but somewhat unreliable (im running it from a fixed location and receiving using a homemade antenna. it is free because a.) the person forgot to password lock their connection or b.) they feel generous. the group where i live provides free access to internet because they feel that it should be free to receive radio and electrical signals.... anyway, i think there should be a wifi adapter to this phone (even though it drains humongous amounts of power...) so the people w/o GPRS can browse freely.
