Personally...I really enjoy the program. The compressed views with tasks added...RULE, as do the multiday views. Switching between them is cool using the MPx200's jog dial. (Nice to be able to use it for something other than just volume!)

I am missing the Week and Month views from the built-in calendar app but the developer promises to continue developing the program adding functionality in future versions. But for as little as I use them in real life...I not missing them much as they are only a click to the built-in-calander-app away.

Tasks shown are very customizable and the program includes the ability to show not only tasks due today, but all undated tasks as well, visible on the current day.

Upon closer inspection, the functions/features of tasks, and their editing, are almost identical to that of PowerTasks, a program also made by DeveloperOne. This begs the question, why not merge the programs into one? After speaking with the developer, they mentioned that although combining the programs could POSSIBLY be a direction in the future, it would be a navigation nightmare to try to combine all of the function and customization tools into one program, at this time, given the Smartphone's limited menu system.

Instead the developer has given users the ability to open PowerTasks from within PowerCalendar by clicking the "7" key, where one could manage their tasks with greater precision.

If you can do without some of the functionality of PowerTasks such as grouping by category, the PowerCalendar is more than able to handle your tasks for you as well as your agenda. But for those who need a bit more...the program duo is a "POWER-ful" combination. (sorry!)

That's all for now.....it would be great to hear other's thoughts on the program.

It's great, I've been playing with this all morning. I'm happy to report that RJTasks Plugin correctly pulls the info from PowerCalendar, so it's all I'll need :)

Very tempted to buy this...

I love it. I've been testing it for a week or so. It's just what I needed to make my calendar useful.

The most powerful thing for me is also one of the simplest things the program does. It's the 'My Text' options. I travel a lot in my job, and I bill and get paid by the hour, so I've always used a PDA to keep track. It was a real pain in the a$$ when I switched to a smartphone because of all the text entry. With Power Calendar, now the current job I'm working is set as an All Day, Multi Day appt, which is always displayed at the top. For keeping track of my time, I just use 'My Text' to enter common appts, such as 'Travel In'; 'Site Time'; 'Travel Out'; Lunch; Conference Call, etc. It's all done in just a few clicks.

Regards. Jay.

I too have been testing it and I think it is great. Until it became available I prefered using Oxios ToDo list over Power Tasks.

Working with appointments and tasks in one agenda view is exactly what I have been waiting for and it makes my Smartphone that much more useful.

I look forward to the addition of the Month & Week view in future releases because I do use them both.

Very nice this, now I can ditch my pocketpc forever :)

Now wouldn't it be nice if Power Calender would come up if i press the calender plugin on my today screen ?

Think this can be made possible anyone ?

I find the calendar plugin near useless. What I would prefer is a better plugin that displays today's agenda. Clicking on that would bring you to Power Calendar. :)

How can i activate "Compressed mode view "? i can't find it.

Menu > Settings > Options > Scroll down to Button Mapping.

Mine is set to 9 which may be the default key.

I asked about this during the beta. I was told that they were working on it and it would be forthcoming.

I've asked them to implement tighter integration with Contacts - I really like the ability to send a reminder to call someone and dial from the calendar. I'd prefer it to be possible to call them from the reminder too, but the real pain is scrolling through all those contacts. Can't they tie in the category filtering and preferably t9 search too? Was this asked for at beta?

Yes it was. It was one of the first things I noticed. It's great to be able to insert a contact into an appoint / task, but having to scroll through 300 contacts to do it isn't reasonable.

They said that, for now, you can use the keypad buttons (2 for 'Jump to Top'; 5 for 'Page Up'; 8 for 'Page Down'; 0 for 'Jump to Bottom'). In a future release they hope to implement a better search function (I'm hoping T9, that works really well).

I'm one of the few who is not happy with the program. Not having a week or month view means I still have to go back to the old calendar, as these views are very important to me. I'll consider buying it when these features are added.

Has anyone been testing the application on a smartphone 2003 device?

I am currently running the trial version and am experiencing a lot of system deadlocks (device hangs, does not respond to incoming calls, need to remove battery to reset).

This seems to happen when PowerCalendar needs to read data about certain days in the calendar. In particular, this happens when:

- The application is open (sometimes)

- Swicthing from single day view to multi day view

- Increasing the # of days of multi day view

asked the question to DeveloperOne support, but did not hear back.

Has anyone observed that?

Just noticed something : When I edit an appointment with Powercalendar on the phone the change is NOT synced with Outlook

SPV (the first one), Orange ROM 1.63 NL, XP pro SP1a, Outlook 2003 (all updates), Activesync 3.7.1 build 4034

Anybody ?

Hi share with you...

I've the same problem encountered but managed to clear it. How? That is by installing Power Calendar in your Storage Card rather than in the internal memory because it will cause the phone to hang. If you install it in Storage Card, there'll be no such problem.

Hope it helps!
