Guest jmcglynn Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 Is this possible? I hae been downloading my "Blueyonder" e-mails by GPRS which works great, buts costs me a fortune - well, ok, increases my GPRS bill ! So can it be done by dialling into the internet rather than by GPRS'ing into it ? This will then be included in my "free minutes" so 'll not be charged.
Guest jmcglynn Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 anybody? This must be possible, and 'm sure there is someone very clever out there that can help me out ?
Guest t3dluke Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Simple, no. There is, as far as I know no modem inside this phone. GPRS is a digital connection (like ADSL) and as such no modem is required therefore there isnt one in the phone. Sorry mate but if you want email on the move you're stuck using GPRS. That is unless someone with exceptional programming skills can write some kind of modem in software like a winmodem, but i SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT!
Guest jmcglynn Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 oh well, thanks for the answer t3dluke.
Guest t3dluke Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 I should have said, I also really wished this could be done (would save a fortune) but it also wouldnt make any sense for orange to do this (not playing their stupid GPRS fees)
