Guest Baddass Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 ok, in StoragewindowsStartUp there's the list fo shortcuts to progs that are stated automatcially with the Windows startup my question is, does anyone know what each one does? and are there any u can delete to free up some system resouces? IA_CID_Startup - caller id app BTHIcon (??) Orange Support (Im guessing this can probably be removed?) RemoteNotify SmsClassZero STK Service ussd what are they all??? thanks guys! :)
Guest meatgrinder Posted February 25, 2004 Report Posted February 25, 2004 i removed the caller ID app from the startup folder - meant to increase battery life a little :) it only controls what ya fone loads on boot Dave
Guest Baddass Posted February 26, 2004 Report Posted February 26, 2004 yeah i know it loads up whats on boot but theres no way of quitting these appz once windows has loaded, so if theyre not needed i can delete them from startup............does anyone knwo what each of them are?
Guest teddyen66 Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 I tried deleting these from my startup folder: Orange Support RemoteNotify..... And it made no chance at all... Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest Dr_StrangeTrick Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Dont know about the E200, but I have the same ones on my E100 and I always remove all of them. Everything works fine afterwards and the phone boots quicker as well :)
Guest t3dluke Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Remember though it stops certain features working. IA Caller ID should be fine to delete though, but make a backup of any deleted files.
Guest Baddass Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 yeah well i use caller id thing anyway, but ive deleted orange support and remote response so ill see if theyre needed
