I've just been playing with the E200 Orange plugin in order to try and get some "power" formatting and thought I'd share my ideas here (for those who are more artistic than me, and may be able to improve on homescreens!).

I've managed to use it to lay out plugins side by side, but I'm having a lot of trouble trying to make them transparent while selected.

Has anyone else ventured down this route? Any luck?

How did you get them side by side? I thought plugins could only be inserted in horizontal strips.

Can you post the XML ?

I'd be interested in seeing how you did that as well.

Its easy,

the shortcut can proxy plugins, and you can have to shortcuts next to one another so

Busy

Settings is already busy

Switch b-tooth

Busy

INbox is already busy

MSN sign in

puts two shortcuts next to one another, but you can just use the shortcut to proxy MS or other plugins.

Wow!

If this works it has great implications for homescreen improvements!

e.g. two columns of text, appointments on left, missed calls, etc. on the right...

...and so on!

THe orange shortcut is a highly adaptable plugin.

It must be mentioned though that you need to be careful with the variable that you set in the outer proxying plugin otherwise the inner one might not get all the windows messages and key presses that they need. Its possible to get 4, 8, etc plugin on one row you just need to nest the xml further.
