Fonix VoiceCentral 2.0 for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone Devices Unveiled at 3GSM World Congress

Hands-free software provides a significant enhancement to the usability, safety and convenience of mobile devices.

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (February 25, 2004) Fonix® Corporation (OTC BB: FNIX), an international provider of leading speech interface solutions, will demonstrate our new version of Fonix VoiceCentral™ for mobile/wireless devices at 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France, February 23 – 26, Hall 1, Booth C23.

Fonix VoiceCentral 2.0 is a totally interactive, hands-free software application for Windows Mobile Pocket PC and Smartphone devices that enables users to access Personal Management Information (PIN) tools simply by speaking. VoiceCentral 2.0 incorporates our award-winning Fonix VoiceDial™ software, while adding several other significant capabilities.

The key to increasing the usability of mobile devices is to enable users to access pertinent information quickly and easily. Functions mobile devices users most need include dialing contacts, listening and responding to email, and launching and closing applications. VoiceCentral 2.0 allows mobile devices users to do it all simply by speaking. Fonix’s voice-enabled interface is convenient and safe (no need to push buttons or scroll through menus), and it’s accurate even in noisy environments. VoiceCentral provides the perfect solution for mobile device users who are on the go and looking for ways to make their busy lives simpler.

VoiceCentral 2.0 is:

Speaker independent — there’s no voice training involved, so VoiceCentral is ready to use as soon as the software is loaded.

Highly accurate — even in noisy environments like cars or airports, perfect for people on the go who want a better, safer and easier way to dial contacts and access email and other information.

VoiceCentral 2.0 allows users to:

Manage email — Listen to email, then choose to delete, reply with a .wav file or save.

Access calendar and tasks — Listen to today’s calendar and hear the most important tasks for the day.

Launch or close any application simple by speaking.

Dial names directly from the contact list — no matter how many names are listed. We have tested it with over 2,000 contacts. And users don’t have to navigate multiple menu trees; they just say the name of the person they want to call.

Dial a number directly using a continuous string of numbers — no pausing or waiting for each digit.

“Fonix VoiceCentral greatly simplifies access to information on mobile devices,” says Tim K. Hong, vice president, Fonix Mobile/Wireless. “This solution is a major leap forward for the mobile industry, providing customers with a convenient interface to multiple device functions. Once they use it, customers can’t live without it.”

Looks great, but where is the download link? The site does not have a SP version posted yet. :-(

I've been to the fonix site but it doesn't mention smartphone compatability. Is this definite?

If so

Could not resist...I've download this software and tried to install on an unlocked e200....the installer says that the software was not designed for this machine...etc.

I'm hoping that perhaps the link for the smartphone version is just not up.

I emailed support to see what the next steps are

Regards

Jay

They have done this before, with voicedial, cocked up with the download link. I think this time they have communicated the release for the voice central, but havnt actually posted a download, another mobile phone site actually posted that this app was available, but in reality, i dont think fonix have got it ready just yet for smartphone.

I am waiting for a reply like everybody else.
