Voice Mail & Inbox on MPx200

Hi All,

Don't know if anyone else has run into this before.

When I try to access Voice Mail (VM) from the message that appears in my Inbox, I get the following message:

"Unable to complete the call as dialed. Verify the number and try again."

I noticed that if I move up to the FROM line, a pop-up eventually appears that displays:

_@

Has anyone figured out (been able) to call VM from a message in the Inbox? Pressing and holding '1' from the Home Screen works as well as the 'Voicemail' (right-button) option when it appears on the Home Screen.

Advance thanks,

Hilaire

Thanks,

Crap ... all I get is:

_@

Confirm Dial Yes/No

You wouldn't happen to know where the INBOX specific number for Voicemail is stored?

I checked the Telephony section and the number there looks fine. Do I need to create entry and store it in the SIM?

Thanks,

Yup,

Everything there looks fine; figured that was initially the problem - both an SMS & VM number are present.

I even created a 'Voice Mail' entry in my SIM and exported it to my contacts on the off chance that would do the trick.

When you have a moment, would it be possible for you to check the following:

1) After receiving a voice mail, check the Inbox, use the UP Jog to get to 'Voice Mail System' which appears on the From line. When you see the 'Voice Mail System' selected, press the DOWN Jog - a popup window will appear.

Note the syntax and let me know; if a number appears, make it generic when you post to keep it confidential.

2) Check your SIM card using SMS Manager -> Accesories to see if you have VM specific entries. If so, let me know where (ie: SMS Storage, Phonebook Storage)

Again, note the syntax (name, wording, etc.) and let me know; if a number appears, make it generic when you post to keep it confidential.

Advance thanks for your help,

I presume you are using At&T and are using a different system?

When I select a message stating the voicemail you have to press up

and not down to highlight the number which is +44123456789 etc.

All I do then is press the Answer key and a message comes up to

confirm the dial of +44 etc.

Select OK and the voicemail is dialed.

As for SIM entries there should not be any as the default location for

SMS is on the phone. And on my SIM there are no VM entries.

Thanks for the quick reply,

No I am on Rogers AT&T (Canada). I'm using a non-operator branded MPx200 (flashed ROM).

The phone works in all other respects except for Inbox Voice Mail. I suspect that Rogers is sending a malformed SMS VM notification and since they don't support the Smartphone on their network it will most likely remain a "mystery".

I was hoping to find a Registry entry that I could change to make it work, but haven't had success to date.

Thanks again for your help, very much appreciated.
