Guest val64bit Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Hi, I wanted to know how to put the mpx200 in canary mode. I tried powering off and then on again with the button on the side pressed, doesnt work. Is connecting to the USB cradle differ in some way than just using the regular cable? Need some help, thanks.

Guest MadSci Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Please bear with a relative Newbie here, but what is "Canary Mode"? Also, doesn't holding down the Action button while powering up set the phone up to do a Hard Reset? I'm just learnin' MadSci
Guest squall Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 its a bootloader, which starts before the os is booted
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 28, 2004 Report Posted February 28, 2004 Also, doesn't holding down the Action button while powering up set the phone up to do a http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>Hard Reset? Yep, Also we use the term "Canary" which is taken from the HTC phones.
Guest Shuflie Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Holding the action button while restarting will allow you to hard reset, the MPx200 equivalent of the canary mode is when you hold left on the direction pad while restarting. This won't appear to do anything exciting as the screen doesn't come on after the restart but the phone is in bootloader mode. Unfortunately none of the SPV bootloader programs do anything with the MPx200 in this mode but it only a matter of time before someone out there will find a use for it. If you want to get your phone restarted again from this mode you need to remove your battery.
