I've had my MPx200 nearly a week now and have been very impressed with it, although I have started to notice something strange. Every single application or song I have installed has gone onto my 256mb SD card, yet I only have 2.1mb of Flash Storage left on the phone (out of 10.3mb)!

I don't know what's causing it, but I have noticed a few files in the Windows directory.

They all have a similar filename to

"MsgQueueDataFileMicrosoft Status Message SMS Protocol (Receive Only)" (with no extension). There is about 14 of them, 7 of which are 1.65mb in size, the rest are 260kb!

What are these files as I think they use up waaay to much space to be system files :?:

Can I delete them?

They are nothing to worry about, the files are not being read correctly.

A thing to check for are the IPSMMAPI folder, this is where your sent SMS and emails are stored and can fill up saome times.

Can I delete anything in the MAPI folder? Nothing too big in there anyway, just a 1mb file and a few tiny ones :?

Where do email's that I've recieved go? I remember I nearly accidently downloaded a large attachment a while ago.

As above the MAPI folder contains sent SMS and emails as long as you are sure you do not meed to save them it's fine to delete the contents of this folder.

As for downloaded files it should be sent to my documents depending on the file type.

Okay, no downloaded files in My Documents, I'm up to 3.3mb free, any other suggestions?

Check your inbox is not full or that you do not have any large ringtones etc installed on the phone.

Can't find anything really. About how much should the phone have spare if it was unused yet?

I've managed moved much of the software (the AIM Picture viewer, memory status etc) from IPSM to Storage Card (but had to edit the registry to make sure the MMS editor could still pick a picture). That saved a bunch of space (4.3Mb free at the moment).
