Guest kennethmccann Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 :) Received an Orange SIM Update at 7.45pm. Switched off the phone, tried to power it back up and it now continuously reboots in and around the time that my sim lock appears. Sometimes you get a chance to enter the code and then it reboots (on one occassion it also brought up an error message about airplane mode being on and to turn the phone off, before of course it rebooted), sometimes it reboots on the Motorola screen. Is there anything worth trying or just get it replaced? :x
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 Check the SIM is being held in correctly, there are two small lugs that have a habit of breaking off. N ormally a folded piece of paper ontop of the SIM fixes this. Also I've had a SIM update before on my SPV and had to do a Hard Reset as it screwed my phone up.
Guest kennethmccann Posted February 27, 2004 Report Posted February 27, 2004 The SIM card lugs are fine - fortunately or unfortunately depending on what way you look at it. Another Feb rebuild it is then. I think I'm owed some from my SPV (I only had to do it 3 times in the year I had it & one of those was the first major update from O).
Guest Simeyboy Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Newbie here. Had a sim update prob that locked my phone up for no reason when taking calls and using win media. Also made me lose the use of the date and time profile in the settings folder. Sorted it by doin a hard boot and reinstalling all programs that were on the phone. Probably not the best way to solve the prob but it worked for me.
Guest mrspoon Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 Hey another newbie yeah this happened to my mpx and it took orange 2 WEEKS to tell me that the only way to fix it is by doing a master reset :) and i was so annoyed but what can you do but be aware of sim updates because they have crashed my phone on more than one occasion
