There i a alternative from Sunnysoft, World Off-Line. It is much slower than AvantGo but it does the job. Once you got it downloaded to the phone it is much faster than browsing using GPRS.

It is only $8 and I think it is worth it.

Be sure to check if it is compatible with SmartPhone 2003. There is a trail version.

Hi!

I don't get it!

I've installed World off-line, but I can't see if it possible to synchronize with my PC. (so I can use my PC internet connection, instead GPRS)

You do not sync with your PC, you use it as a gateway to internet for WOL.

But you have to be connected with ActiveSync and have Pass Through to Internet set up in Options>Rules. WOL will use the Pass Through connection instead of GPRS.

Hi

Unfortunately it does not.

If you log into avantgo>select my account from the right hand pane>software downloads>windows dowloads you will notice smartphone is not supported.

I was a user of avantgo with my pocketpc, and its a shame it does not support smartphone.

Hopefully avantgo will release software for the smartphone platform.

Strange.... in my User manual, there's a screen shot of avantgo during antivesyn....

TBH, it wouldn't surprise me if the network operators had asked Microsoft and AvantGo to leave out support for AvantGo...they can either make _nil_ revenue by letting users sync up news when they dock their phones, or they can charge us through the nose for using GPRS/IE...

Will have a look at the WOL stuff!

Thanks,

Olly.

I also grew to like AvantGo on the PPC and was disappointed when I founfd out that there was no MSSP version.

I have been using WOL as a replacement and find it quite usable. It is definitely slower than AvantGo but it gets the job done.
