Guest justafeind Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 hello with you headset probs try blowing really hard down the headset port and should clear up i have the same prob every now and again :)
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 A common problem for some. Sometimes the switch gets stuck inside the phone. Try blowing in the hole or putting the headset in and out until the switch releases.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Try not to use the headset from now on as this problem will comeback and possibly become permanant :)
Guest Hendo44642 Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 hi ihave just fixed this problem using the methods suggested so i would firstly like to thank you. The next thing is that i use the hands free kit every day and am now worried that if i continue to use it the problem will become permanent, so i was wondering if there was a way of fixing the problem??? Thanx
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 The only way to fix the phone would be to send it off for repair, unfortunatly this is not a cheap option.
Guest marcdale Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 I work at Orange and couple of people I know have had this problem and in both cases we found it to be the headset. They inserted a headset on load from someone else and it cleared the problem instantly. The purchase of a new headset has and meant the problem has not returned. One of them had a replacement phone first and the problem returned on the same day as soon as he inserted his old headset into it. That's when we tried a new headset which then cleared it first time. This may just be a bit of a 'red herring' but I thought I would mention it. It could be wear and tear on the headset either externally or internally that is preventing the headset profile from releasing on the extraction from socket from the phone. I also never experienced the problem, but then I damaged my headset early on, so I replaced it, then I damaged it again. So I've always had a new headset! I'm not speaking on behalf of Orange so it's no good sending me complaints, I only look after their computer systems but I am speaking on here as a personal SPV, SPV E100 & SPV E200 user, nothing more. Besides Orange don't actually make phones they only provide a retail outlet for phone manufacturers.
Guest dearsina Posted April 9, 2004 Report Posted April 9, 2004 I had a similar problem on an SPV, the phone would not auto-exit the headset profile when the headphone was pulled out of the phone. The problem is that the phone still thinks the headset is in the socket and therefore refuses to allow any other profile. I found that by quickly putting the headset in and out of the headset socket a couple of times, the phone recoginzes the error and exits the headset profile. Hope this helps. sina london
