some one please help me.....

my xphone with only 4 mb operating memory left is now operating like the old spv i had....its become two slow and surprisingly some plugin or the other has removed my listing of all softwares from add remove programme...Also smoothscreen has gone and logged itself on to the programmes listing and is not coming out from there...

Now need to hard reset..

I have clicked on that word...followed all the procedures but only get a 3 coloured skin with nothing further to do...

the procedure i followed and the with variations is

1.remove card

2.switch phone off

3.remove battery for 30sec

4.press power camera and action button altogether and u get a screen saying press any key...

even if i press any key or not this phone comes back to this color screen..

PLEASE HELP

also if some one knows wether i will loose my t9 function(most important) as reported in this forum somewhere...if that is so i will die

if so then i better not take a risk...

when it says press any button, press and HOLD the joystick. Until the screen goes white. then release, and select option 8

You do not need to remove the SIM to do a hard reset.

If you are getting a white screen only this normally means you have the dummy storage card that is used for packaging when the phone is shipped.

You need to remove this card and put an storage card in.

thanx a ton...i just could manage doing it...it was so basic but belive it or not the link hard reset takes u to a page where the info is no sufficient and is very confusing....also now there are so many vairents and probably each have a different way of hard reset...info needs to be updated as some newbee will die of a heart attack...

when i ment T9 i was reffering to the function getting deleted...if just learnt words is what we r loosing thats ok...as i just saw the new cool way of keeping T9 personal words in the notes of a contact...always there

With respect to the above posts by ukim6600 and FRic

You do not remove the SIM card when doing a hard reset as the SIM is only read after the OS has booted up.

a Hard Reset is technically only accessing the Bios of the phone and not the OS.

I don't know about others, but on my O2 Xphone the SIM must be removed to do a hard reset. The first time I didn't know as the hard reset info page says nothing about the SIM and I must've tried various button combination more than a thousand times...
