Guest jacoch Posted March 2, 2004 Report Posted March 2, 2004 [MAJ2]New Beta 4 works correctly when several fonts are installed. A new version of SP Task Manager is also available to fix the same problem[/MAJ2] [MAJ]New beta 3 changes expiration date of the beta and add some minor bug fixes, mainly regarding the screen refreshing.[/MAJ] List of changes in this new beta: - Fixed a problem when reading some SD cards. The problem doesn't occure anymore on the phone of our testers. Unfortunately, it's not possible to garantee that it won't appear any more. So please be careful if you had problems with previous version. Make a backup before testing. If you have troubles, you can disable the status bar. - Sending files by BT to all devices should work. It has been tested with several phones, such as T68i, T610 and Nokia 6600. - It's possible to activate full speed sending during the transfer. By default, Smart Explorer limit the size of data it gives to the Obex API to be sure it doesn't send too much data at a time. - Status bar can be hidden. - Display of information in status bar doesn't occur during scroll. It improves the speed. - Fixed a bug when unstuffing some ZIP files. - All files in selection can be sent at a time by bluetooth or infrared. Many thanks to Xetra, the author of Xbar2, for his help in debugging SD card problem and to all Modaco users for their feedback on beta 1. It was much appreciated. Guest drblow Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Well, installed & running smoothly so far - been testing it for about the last half hour & no problems whatsoever!! The display at the bottom is correct for all the files & folders on the SD card, & all are accessible as ever. As far as I can remember, the previous problems I had with SD card reading were apparent immediately, so this looks like it has solved the issue for me!! Thats with a Lexar 64MB SDcard. Nice one Jacoch & Xetra!! :)
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 Yup .. it sure is the best Explorer out there!! No problems so far, love the fact that it's speedier this time o/
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 3, 2004 Report Posted March 3, 2004 If you have an older version running you need to reboot for the update to run :)

Guest peekie Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 is there any chance of in future versions when you have the expiring date not to have it so it locks up the prog but instead a warning ,as i had the problem where i was at work and unable to update the programme so i was unable to use it
Guest roozbeh Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 hmmmm....if the program expires it stops working?!!! my current version just show a dialog for registering...so btr not to upgrade!!!
Guest jacoch Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 is there any chance of in future versions when you have the expiring date not to have it so it locks up the prog but instead a warning ,as i had the problem where i was at work and unable to update the programme so i was unable to use it Final release won't have this limitation. But in the past, there was some betas with major bugs and found that a lot of users were using these versions, because they downloaded from other web sites that are not up-to-date. That's why we decided to limit duration of beta versions. It's to protect users from bugs and be sure they don't continue to use unstable versions.
Guest crafty Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 Thanks once again for your brilliant work on this esential app. I was wondering if you had any plans to add extra functionality to the program? In particular i would love to have a "Send via MMS" option for media files such as pictures and videos. This would allow us to send video messages in .3gp format. I know that the SPV can't record in .3gp (yet?) but i can make these vids with my digital cam etc and sync them to my phone, just no way to send them yet! Many thanks.
Guest www.msmobiles.com Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 why it cannot RECEIVE files over Bluetooth? receiving files over Bluetooth is VERY important (more than sending). could you do also receiving?
Guest jacoch Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 why it cannot RECEIVE files over Bluetooth? receiving files over Bluetooth is VERY important (more than sending). could you do also receiving? Receiving as not been implemented because it is realized by the OS correctly. The only option that is not available is the possibility to choose the destination for incoming files. Maybe you can make us change our mind
Guest jacoch Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 New version is available. See first post for details.
Guest MrMagoo Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 It looks a lot like you put 2.0b3 in the 2.0b4 cab  because the About screen says 2.0b3 and it still has the font problem.... on the upside - sp task manager is looking very nice :)

This only applied to the english version. File has been updated on our server.
Guest mikey1234 Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 it would be good to see if you could have a "send to" as when i go to my temp internet files and i copy a jpg and paste it in my documents folder it takes ages to scroll to it Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest crafty Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Any thoughts on my "Send via MMS" request jacoch?
Guest jacoch Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Any thoughts on my "Send via MMS" request jacoch? Well, MMS support won't be an easy thing to implement, especially on SPV 1G. On E200, it should be possible. But we have other functions that are maybe much more useful to implement before. But I keep this idea in our wish-list and will ask developers to think about that.
Guest v1nn1e Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Crafty...you can send via mms if you first choose send by email but then choose the mms acount to send instead of a email account.
