Help - Optus Australia MMS Settings

Hi,

I need some help with configuring and getting MMS working with Optus Australia. Ive called them and they arent helpful as the phone isnt supported.

A GPRS connection to the internet has been created and works.

Ive configured the following as per the settings depository thread.

Start>Settings>More>Data Connections>Edit Connections>GPRS Connections>

Ive created a connection called Optus MMS. It connects to “the internet”, access point is “mms”, and all other fields are blank. I cant get it to connect to a "MMS Connection".

Ive also created a connection under MMS>Settings called Optus MMS.

Under here the MMSC URL is “http://mmsc.optus.com.au

It also asks for a WAP Gateway which I don’t know.

Could someone please help me in configuring Optus MMS

Hi Rambler,

I just got my Xphone last week and had the same trials getting GPRS/MMS set up. I actually got a really helpful guy from Optus who sent me some stuff for the Qtek 7070. Not the same, but I got it working in the end. Here is what I set up which seems to be working. Let me know how you go.

GPRS Connections create two connections (these are the names I gave the connections)

- Optus GPRS

- Optus MMS

Optus GPRS

Connects to - The Internet

Access Point - internet

Primary DNS - 202.139.83.3

Secondary DNS - 192.65.91.129

Every other field is blank.

Optus MMS

Connects to - WAP Network

Access Point - mms

Every other field is blank.

Under Data Connections I have

Internet Connection - Optus GPRS

Work Connection - Automatic

WAP Connection - Automatic

Secure WAP Connection - Automatic

Under the MMS app under "Settings" I have created the account "Optus MMS"

Name - Optus MMS

MMSC URL - http://mmsc.optus.com.au

WAP Gateway - 61.88.190.10

Under the MMS app under "Preferences" Ive have "Connect via WAP Network" selected

Hey, do you guys find that sometimes you can't send an mms over the network? Sometimes I have to turn the phone off then on, and then go through the settings again, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't work. It's really annoying. Anyone experiencing this as well?
