Remote connection to work - GPRS VPN problems

I have an Orange SPV E200 which I bought primarily to connect to our work Exchange 2003 server and synch Outlook stuff. We use Citrix, so I don't use a PC, so this all needs to be done over air.

I had major problems even conecting using basic GSM dial-up, until someone suggested setting the dial-up connection to 'Internet' rather than 'Work' (logical, huh?). This works fine, but to connect to the Internet, I have to switch the Internet connection to GPRS - heh,ho.

Now I want to migrate my GSM disl-up connection to a GPRS VPN connection. So, under the VPN connections tab, I created a VPN connection (I tried both PPTP and IPSec). However, I couldn't even find a way to get these connection to appear as options under the 'Data Connections' screen. The E200 seems to filter these connections 'intelligently' - and filters VPN connections out altogether.

Anyone got any suggestions? Has anyone else tried to do this - and succeeded or failed?
