Hi,

Just got my new SPV E200 last week with the Orange car charger (OR3711167) and when connecting it in the car it has bent the pins in the port on the bottom of my phones. Still charges off the mains but won't sync on the cradle and doesn't charge off the in car charger - although when plugged in on the car it says it's charging but the battery still drains pretty quickly - think the car starts to run off the handset :)

Orange are refusing to replace it on orange care deeming I was negligent as used excessive force connecting the charger - I may have tried to put it in the wrong way round but certainly didn't use excessive force. Also no instructions came with the charger saying what way it goes into the handset.

Am quite narked as they are wanting £300 for an emergency replacement !!

Anyone else had any problems with this ?? Manage to get it sorted out by orange ? It was after all a charger they supplied in the shop with the phone, in the shop I took it back to they weren't too sure of which way the charger went in but said they weren't able to swap the handset.

Have now written to orange care as that's apparently all i can do to appeal it - otherwise it's £56 or so to get hayes to fix it....

Any advice welcomed...

Oh - and the handset is now stuck in the headset profile..

Cheers,

Kes

I had a similar experience, when I bought a car charger for my SPV the sales assistant in the Orange Shop was reluctant to try the connector in my phone because he said ' It may get damaged ' he tried it on one of the shops e200's and couldn't get it connected without a great deal of force.

I know this doesn't help you but it does show that even Orange Phone Trainers can't plug in the charger without using force !!!!!

Well have received a reply from orange's claims assesors and they are now covering it !!

Just gave them a call and new one on it's way tomorrow morning - goes to show not to believe everything they tell you on the phone.
