Guest mjread Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 I've searched, but I've obviously not searched hard enough. I've gone and lost the CD that came with the E200 (I had it yesterday, and well, the fairies obviously had a busy night) and I've been trying to find somewhere where I can download the USB drivers for W2K. Does anybody know of anywhere?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Just download Activsync from MS that's all you need.
Guest mjread Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Unfortunately without installing the drivers the smartphone is not recognised by ActiveSync. I plug it in via USB and up pops the new hardward wizard, and I can go no further.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 There are no other drivers to install only Activsync. Sounds like you have plugged the phone in before installing Activsync, have a look at this post for a fix http://modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=142
Guest mjread Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Thanks for you help, much appreciated and I'll certainly bear that thread in mind should the worst ever happen, but all is sorted now. A driver is still required in order for Windows to know how to talk to the Smartphone. I already have ActiveSync installed and just required the driver off of the CD which I am suspecting is actually installed as part of O's installation of ActiveSync - hence you are quite rightly lead to believe that nothing else needs to be installed. Anyway, have managed to track down a copy of said CD, installed the drivers and am now up and running.
