Guest patag Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 Yesterday I purchased a Samsung SCH-i600 with service from Verizon. After making a couple of calls, I decided it was time to see what else I could do with the phone, after all, it's running a Windows OS. Naturally, this lead me to here, where I've found a wealth of information, thanks to everyone for contributing! Here is my question. I WANT THE ORANGE E200 badly! But I don't know much purchasing another phone from another country (with or without the SIM unlocked) and bringing it to the US for service. A couple of questions: Anyone using the E200 in the US? (I live in the Pacific Northwest) If yes, what cell phone provider? (I hope Verizon!) What are the limitations for doing something like this? Anything else I should know / consider? Thanks a bunch! patag
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 welcome to the site :) Verizon use the CDMA band which the E200 does not support so you would have to look at using another network.
Guest patag Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Thanks! Since it won't work with Verizon, will it work with AT&T?
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 If you get the phone SIM Unlicked you can use it on ATT or TMobile. Theoretically you can use it on any GSM Carrier that uses 1900 band, though you should do some research to see which work in your area. For example, Cingular is GSM but only uses the 850 band in my area which would not work on the phone. Good Luck
