Guest Sully Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 I'vedownloaded a demo of mini-sportsbike where/how do I need to run it from for it to work on my MPx200 Cheers :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 4, 2004 Report Posted March 4, 2004 If the game is in .cab format place the cab on the phone in IPSMWindowsStart MenuAccessories then on the phone go to ProgramsAccessories and run the game install from there. If the game is a .exe normally this will be an installer to run from the PC.
Guest Sully Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 file is called sp11demo_smp I've unzipped the file and copied it to SD that didn't work so I copied it to IPSM/Windows/Start Menu/Accessories it came up with not a valid windows CE product :?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 That's one range of games you do not want to try out as they are very bad ports from the ppc. I have just downloaded the demo from handango and it is a .exe file to be run from the PC the file ends in smp.exe :)
Guest Sully Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Ahh I see....sorted now....I'm not sure what you mean by bad ports from the ppc could you please explain a little? Cheers
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 The games by OmniG Software were originaly on the pocket PC and they have been ported over to work on the phone. The problem is that no consideration was made to how well the phone could handle the game, and rather than design the game to run on the phone properly it was poorly converted making the game unusable (a bit like Quake) Games like this give the phone a bad name even though the problem is not the phone but sloppy programming.
