Guest stuieee Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Hi guys, Been using my E200 since the week it was released, and it has just died on me, so have been shipped replacement phone by Orange. I have just plugged the new phone into my cradle, and my Activesyync is asking me to set up a new connection profile, rather than simply restoring the data. Any ideas how I make Activesync realise that I want the phone treated as the same entity as the old one? Many thanks, Stuart
Guest colingwalker Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Without the phone connected open up ActiveSync and click on File, about half way down the menu you will see delete partnership. Use this to delete the partnership to your old SPV now when you connect your new SPV set up standard Partnership with settings you used before. Activesync will nor allow 2 devices with the same name so you either have to change the name of your SPV or delete the partnership of the previous model as described above. Hope this helps

Guest colingwalker Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 It shouldn't do because the partenership you are creating is the same as previous. One way to make sure is to copy the backup file from the backup location to 'my documents' and then when you created the new partnership, copy it back.
