Guest greenwood Posted March 5, 2004 Report Posted March 5, 2004 Is there any way to write sms using T9 without having it written in Unicode? On of our operators localized T9 vocabulary also. It is very handy when writing appointments or tasks but it becomes very annoying when writing sms messages. Instead of 160 chars for one sms I can use only 80 chars. If I uncheck "Use Unicode for SMS when necessary" in message options it does not convert text to non-Unicode characters as I assumed but it leaves all special chars in Unicode. Received message is almost unreadable then. Such behavior makes T9 useless for me. If I can't use it for sms messages I can't use it at all because it's very easy to get to used to it and then is very hard to write something in other way.
Guest Wolferine Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 maybe you should teach t9 words without unicode character and then it should be usable (but maybe you must then press 0 multiply to get word without unicode character,i don't now)
Guest greenwood Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. I can't teach my phone all words and that trick with '0' key works only in some cases.
