Guest manveruppd Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 OK, so was shopping around for a 128MB SD card to use in my SPV E200, when one of the user comments on the EBuyer website scared me enough to put me off buying almost completely: If you are buying this for your Orange SPV E200, beware as this card will not work in the phone. It is a double layer card where the SPV needs a single layered card. I'm returning this kit for a replacement (hopefully that will work!) ...so, does anyone know which cards on the market are single and which double layered? Thanks! Mike
Guest muza Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 i got the 512sd Sandisc from scan.co.uk £100 Its worth every penny my phone is now truely awsome, dont bother with 128mb ive got that alone in apps 128mb apps 256mb Mp3's and Southpark episodes (played in the excellent pocket mvp) 128mb Documents (viewed in repligo) storage for videos and pics i take and other files i transport to and from work
Guest supermarv Posted March 6, 2004 Report Posted March 6, 2004 I echo what muza said regards size - try to go for at least a 256mb card - they are £40-50 now. I opted for a 512mb Kingston from eBuyer and had no trouble with it in my MPx 200. I'd tlike to think you could return the card for another (or a refund) if it was incompatible with your phone. However, having never had to return any of my purchases from eBuyer I can't really comment on after-sale/returns support.
Guest manveruppd Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Sorry guys, but I didn't take your advice cause EBuyer made me an offer I couldn't refuse!;p http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/in...oduct_uid=48511 I know Lexar isn't a big brand - I'd never heard of them before, but the price was impossible to refuse! It's almost certainly a misprint because the 64MB Lexar costs a fiver MORE than this, but it's their problem (and their web designer's) not mine!:) Mike
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Lexar's not a big brand? I beg to differ! Fantastic deal there tho, hope it works in your SPV :)
Guest manveruppd Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 You gotta love those misprints!:D A friend of mine saved about £100 on a digital camera cause of a mistake on PCWorld's website! It was corrected about 2 days after he placed his order. I'll report on whether the card works as soon as I get it, so if the "offer's" still on other people can... ahem... take advantage of it...:)
Guest DavidD Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I echo what muza said regards size - try to go for at least a 256mb card - they are £40-50 now. I opted for a 512mb Kingston from eBuyer and had no trouble with it in my MPx 200. So, I noticed online that they have "SD cards" and "Mini SD cards". There is a considerable difference in the physicla size of the card, although the price is about the same. Which one do I need to get for my MPX-200? Normal or "mini" ? I found a 256 MB "normal" SD card for $80 (after rebate, shipping, and taxes) on PC Mall.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Normal Sized for the MPx200 There are no Smartphones available YET that use the minis
Guest manveruppd Posted March 14, 2004 Report Posted March 14, 2004 Follow-up on the 128MB Lexar I got for £17 off eBuyer: works perfectly on my E200, but I checked their website again and they corrected the price, so anyone else who wanted to get one you're out of luck...:)
