Hi all,

My name is Craig and I live in Australia. I just received my O2 XPhone the other day and have found it to be an amazing device to say the least. I have managaed to get GPRS and email access and Web access all set up but I can't seem to get the alarm clock to work.

I had an Ngage before and with a piece of extra software called World Clock I could have the phone turned off and with the alarm set for say 6:20am the phone would wake up and alarm. Loud enough to wake me up.

The alarm clock in the XPhone though from my understanding is that the phone must be on for the alarm to work!! Is this the case? If so, is there a programme that will allow me to have the phone turned off and still have the alarm clock work properly?

Thanks in advance

Craig

Well you can turn the airplane mode on which will stop calls and save battery life overnight and the alarm still functions

Please test your alarm sound before relying on it to wake up. For some reason some audio files that work just fine as ringtones or other sounds won't work correctly as the alarm sound. When that happens, the phone reverts to "Ding".

Also, some sounds do work, but sound completely wrong.

Test before use...

thanks all for the reply. Seems to be a major application gone lacking on this type of device. Most cheap low end phones have at least an alarm clock function.

alarm is very loud and clear if u go into profile settings and edit the volume for alarm...as there is a setting when u buy a new phone kept at value 4 only in normal section..u need to keep it on loud to get a loud volume...best of luck

Hah. For one whole week after I got my Xphone I overslept every single day cause I always rely on my phone to wake me up. Stupid Ding. :)

Alternatively you can try pTravelAlarm which lets you set up to 10 alarms. The phone still has to be on for it to work though.
