Guest p2daz Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Hello all, being a gadget man i have bought my first spv off ebay and am due to receive it this week,i have downloaded numerous apps and the updates in readiness for the big arrival. I have a few questions,I think the model is a E100(it has a seperate camera)if i update it with the latest update-will it be the same spec as the E200?Do I need to use a specific update for the E100? Is playing divx or equivalent a possibility? Is it worth it,I may buy a larger sd card for this purpose if so. Am I right in saying audio is stored as wma?can you use a stored track as a ringtone? Thanks
Guest p2daz Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 i'm a bit peeved really,my fault for jumping in and buying this phone without researching it a bit more, seems that it is the original SPV and not an E100 ,is this a big disadvantage over the newer phones?Am I right in aying there are no polyphonics on the SPV? I paid £100 for this phone,is this a fair price? In the description on Ebay it said it was only 2-3 months old-how can this be,could you still buy these 2-3 months ago? cheers
Guest midnight Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 the spv and e100 only really differ in appearance (and e100 has slightly better display), as for actual specs, they are identical. both the spv and the e100 have only midi 0 support (meaning mono), however, both can use wav files for ringtones, which a majority of users use anyway :) and i dont see how this can only be 2-3 months old, the SPV was stopped being manufactured a long time ago, even the E100 was stopped being manufactured 3 months ago.
Guest Gorskar Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 there is an update (1.6) which fixes a lot of the problems the spv has, but doesnt upgrade it to SP2003 (which the e200 uses) If your phone is an e100 then I'd say you've gotten a good deal for only £100. If its an spv original its probably worth £100 in good condition with all the original accessories.
Guest p2daz Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 thanks for that chaps, makes me feal a lot better-i thought i'd bought a 'wrong 'un'! The phone comes with camera, sync cradle etc so maybe it's good value. Just can't wait to start playing /meddling/breaking it! cheers
Guest kelv23 Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 Dont know if this is any use but Dixons are doing a deal on a PNY 512 mb card £99.99 its a web only deal though, not in the shops.....
Guest p2daz Posted March 8, 2004 Report Posted March 8, 2004 thats a good deal, bit out of my budget at the moment though,I'm going to get a 128mb card tomorrow, then probably wish I'd bought the 512mb one when it's full of apps and music.... cheers
Guest nechbi Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I did see in my local ASDA last week that they were selling 256mb Sandisk cards for just over 50 quid... Might get one myself - you can never have enough!
Guest p2daz Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 bummer just paid slightly less than that for 128mb from pc world,i did have some vouchers though which took the sting out of it a bit.
