Guest steverae Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 I have been encoding my friends episodes using media encoder 9 to around 8mb each... to watch on media player on my spv e200. However, i can't find away to jump to a point in a episode, ie half way through and have to watch each one from the start again.... Is this possible ?
Guest goinnuts Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 sorry mate no. you need pocket tv (mpeg) or pocket mvp (avi) for forward skipping.
Guest scott2eyes Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 If you check Monolithix.org, there is a piece of software called ASX Coder which seems to do what you want it to do (ie. break up large audio/video files into tracks/segments.)
Guest PritenC Posted March 9, 2004 Report Posted March 9, 2004 the only problem with that is the video adds a pause when it goes to the next 'track' so it would be advisable to have as few 'tracks' as possible
Guest steverae Posted March 16, 2004 Report Posted March 16, 2004 okay people, looking for a replacement for windows media on this e200.... needs to be able to play mp3, wma and wmv files with fast forward and rewind..... anyone ?
Guest phonesmarts Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 Pocket MVP, but it can't play WMA or WMVs. So there really isn't any players that i know of that play all formats
Guest roozbeh Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 i think wma and wmvs codec can be found on internet somewhere....for sure media player is not the only player that can play these...so maybe if on linux there is an open-source softwate..some can use it for playing wmas...
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted March 17, 2004 Report Posted March 17, 2004 okay people, looking for a replacement for windows media on this e200.... needs to be able to play mp3, wma and wmv files with fast forward and rewind..... anyone ? I very much agree with this.
Guest rayer Posted March 18, 2004 Report Posted March 18, 2004 I've just got my e200. Can you give me a dummies guide on how your got each episode down to 8MB so I can experiment. :)
Guest steverae Posted March 22, 2004 Report Posted March 22, 2004 I've just got my e200. Can you give me a dummies guide on how your got each episode down to 8MB so I can experiment I used virtual dub with the divx 5.0.2 codec with 8 frames per second and crazily low bit rates. Watchable but a bit pants...... couldn't get it to play in pocketMVP. Decision.... use Media player for music and PocketTV for video, can get a mpeg1 version of friends episodes around 15MB, more than watchable.....
Guest phonesmarts Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 hey, about audio, i think the best type to put on the phone, or SC, is Mp3Pro. the PMVP and WMP can play this, since its a regular mp3, but it saves space. i have a 150 megs of music on my SD, and it has been encoded to about 5 hours of music.
Guest steverae Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 Mp3Pro. the PMVP and WMP can play this, Sounds good, but i think WMA is the way forward as far as i'm concerned cause they can be used as ringtones as well. BTW what software would you need to encode to mp3pro... ? I'll have a little look at it and compare the quality and size. I'm thinking about upgrading my standalone dvd player as well to one that plays wma, thats how comfortable i am with the format.....
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 I use Windows Media Encoder and I think it's perfect.
Guest phonesmarts Posted March 24, 2004 Report Posted March 24, 2004 its called thompson mp3pro, and it only converts to mp3pro from WAV files...but most encoders can convert original mp3s to WAVs. of course, there is a Nero and WinAmp plugin that allows you to do the same.
