Alright guys!

you'll probs find this very useful indeed!!

I know there are a lot of problems with the e200's t9 memory system in that it always forgets words you've added to the dictionary by manual entry.

I've just discovered that in actual fact it does not forget them as such - they are remembered - its just the phone seems to somehow forget about that.

Can't remember if you still have an e200 to try this on, but i suggest that you get everyone with one to try it out!

Compose a text message with t9 entry active and then try to put in a word you know isn't in the dictionary. Switch back to 'abc' manual entry and correct the word to that the spelling is correct. Under the usual circumstances, whereby it forgets the word, try and re-type the same word you just correct with t9 active this time. Again it will not remember the word. Now - hold down the # (hash) key to enter the character entry screen - click the Cancel softkey to return to the message editor. Now try and enter the same word it didn't previosly remember in t9, use the zero key and you will see that all of a sudden as if by magic the e200 remembers the word! Can't really explain why this happens, but it does!!!! Surely someone techy in this forum willfigure this out!!

Cheers guys!

Its very fiddly but it does work. Just out of interest what were you doing to find out this work around?

Next question is, does it survive a soft reset ?

i found the T9 work around with creating a message and leaving it in ur drafts with all the t9 words u need works a treat.......after a reset u need to open the message once and then when u go to type a new msg it has remembered all the words u had listed in ur draft msg.........just add new words in teh same draft when u need new ones in there :)

this was in the Articles forum btw
