Hi,

Orange are replacing my clapped out mpx200 with an e200 which i should get in the next day or so. Just wondering does smartphone 2003 have any issues regarding applications that run fine on mpx200? and if there's anything else i should be aware of>

Regards

most apps run ok.

i got a e100 replacing my damaged spv in a similar manor. points to note i believe you cant change back if you don't like the spv100.

think Pocket MVP is very problematic on the SP 2003 operating system, whereas it worked ok on 2002........im certainly having probs with it, instead just using Pocket TV and encoding vidoes into mpeg instead....

The Microsoft Smartphone Theme Generator isn't compatible with SM2003. So it isn't quite so easy to customise the homescreen. Presumably an update to this tool will be released in the not too distant future.

I too was offered an E200 in replacement for a faulty MPx200. Wasn't too keen on the whole thing at first (I think the E200 is a remarkably ugly looking phone and far too fat). My opinion on the styling of the phone hasn't changed - it just looks like a curvy brick. But it is so much faster and smoother to use than the MPx200. Menus load instantly, you hardly see the 'egg-timer' animation, and everything just feels so much more responsive. Battery life is pretty poor, but then again the MPx200 was hardly easy on the juice. Overall, I'm very impressed and wouldn't go back to the MPx200 (but would certainly be interested in the new MPx100). Also, having the camera is quite good fun.

Still kicking myself though. Accidentally left a 256Mb SD card in the old phone when it got picked up and have now got no way of getting it back again.... d'oh! Just make sure you don't make the same mistake as me!
