battery life on original SPV

hi, i've got an original SPV and while the battery life has never been particularly good, it's always lasted around a couple of days before needing to be charged. since last week the battery is barely lasting 7-8 hours even when not used and just sat on my desk at work... the battery is just under a year old. is there any way of doing something to the battery in order to restore it to its normal state, or am i doomed?

sounds pretty grim, however it may not be the battery. li-ion bats dont suffer from the 'memory effect' that most batterys do, so its unlikely not to be taking a full charge. have you installed new software etc?

no, i only got the replacement last night and it's doing the same on the new handset too...i can only think it's the battery (unless the sim or memory card has something to do with it?)

that's what i thought - i'll try orange in a couple of days, after i've charged my phone a couple of times to make 100% sure it is a battery problem. i'm not sure spending £50 on a battery is what i want to do at the mo, esp if i can get a new battery under the warranty.

Make sure you quit as many apps as you can when you're not using them (you'll have to quit all with task manager since a lot of the apps don't have their own exit option,) I find this makes the biggest difference.
