Guest sparkie Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Hello. Noob here. Wondering if anyone clever peeps know of a way of doing mass deletes from your contacts. Stupidly imported all my contacts from outlook and now I have a phone crammed with a hundred or so work contacts. Had the same problem taking stuff off my sim one by one, but there wasn't' as many. Is there an easy way a dullard like me hasn't spotted. ta much, and apologies if this topic has been done. Couldn't find it on a search.
Guest dumpydexter Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Hee Hee....nope sorry being another Noob, I have no idea, but I guess a master reset is a bit drastic :) G
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 A hard reset would indeed do it but yes, it is a bit drastic. The only alternative I can think of is deleting them in Outlook then resyncing your phone with your PC. You could back them all up first, delete the ones you don't want from outlook on your PC, sync with your phone, delete the partnership, then put the ones you backed up back in to Outlook. You would, of course, have the same problem next time you sync with your phone tho...
Guest Belgarath Krall Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 easy way, make a new subfolder in outlook, copy all you contacts from the parent folder to the subfolder, then delete all the parent folder contacts & sync your phone...sorted. anything in a subfolder isn't sync-ed (this doesnt apply for the inbox btw) let me know if this works or otherwise...

Tried and failed, but then found the conflict settings in the rules and change that to 'Always replace the items on my device' . Deleted the whole contacts folders, sync the phone and bingo bongo  Cheers for that :)
