SD card slot kaput

:) well... when i put in or pull out my sd card absolutely nothing happens, it used to light up, and register that it had been put in, but now... nothing, does ne1 know what could cause this? or can i get a replacement/repair under warranty? i dont have orange care, but i dont need it wen the sd card slot just isnt working do i? :/

and further to this... it seems all my bad luck has been coming at once :)

i think the problem with the sd card slot is that the switch to register a card being inserted isnt working, because if i put the card in the wrong way around, it lights up, so im guessing the card, wen inseretd correctly, isnt touching the switch nemore....

but as of today my joystick has decided to "call it a day" i.e. i have to push VERY hard to get it to register left or down presses :/

any1 else had this?

no. you need to format the SD card first

I'd ring Orange if I were you and get a replacement, lets us know how you get on if you haven't got care and they fob you off to HTC :shock:

im sure i remember hearing that people have called orange who didnt have orange care, and just paid a certain amount and agreed to hav care from that point onwards, and then orange replace it?

is that right?

this has to be a warranty issue, as using an sd card slot is surely a normal function of the phone :/ i reallllly hope i dnt have to get in touch with htc, they seem to have very little, if any, presence in the UK :)

well can anyone confirm if i can pay for the orange care and they will replace it?
