Guest smith2001 Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 hi all, thought if i formatted my phone it might sort out my none responsive enter/return button, unfortunatly it doesn't. anyway i have orange care and wondered if i reported this fault along with the fact my joystick when pointed down doesn't respond 100% will i get a replacement sent and my old 1 collected, or will i have to wait along time for testing and such ?? cheers all
Guest Coucou Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 If you get it done under Orange Care you'll get a replacement straight away but it'll cost you £15, if you get it done under warranty it'll be free but you won't get a replacement to use while they try to sort out your phone out. If it's a hardware problem then these are probably the only two choices. Sometimes these things go away though, and it may well be worth doing a hard reset again, which I presume you've already tried? Download Orneta Tester (you'll have to unlock the phone) that should tell you if it's hardware or not.
Guest jbrare Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 I dont think Orange care charge the £15 for warranty replacement faults. They only charge for loss, theft or accidental damage and hardware faults after the warranty period. Give 'em a ring and haggle if necessary!
Guest jackofall Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 with the fact my joystick when pointed down doesn't respond 100% will i get a replacement sent and my old 1 collected, you should do I had mine replaced for exactly that reason for no charge =)
Guest Coucou Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Well all I can say is that for a very similar fault on my phone Orange told me that it would cost £15 and it didn't matter what the cause was. My phone is under warranty still. I had my phone replaced not long before christmas and I got charged then too - but there was a goodwill refund on my bill. It seems like they're phasing this in, the Orange guy told me it was due to the volume of replacements they're having to make. Sounds to me like they're passing on the cost of providing dodgy quality phones. I could rant here but I won't, I decided that I'd hang on and wait for my upgrade which isn't too far off. Funnily enough the problem sorted itself out after that so I'm not too cross. :)
Guest smith2001 Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 i rang orange care and i will recieve my replacement phone tonight !!! between 6-10 was well impressed, anyway it was free too. hope the new phone has no errors :) cheers all
Guest Coucou Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Right, if I have the problem again and get told I have to pay £15 then I'll kick some arse.
Guest smith2001 Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 got it, works fine and is class, well sorted orange care
