Guest wwwwww Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 I am trying to sim unlock an origional SPV canary. When I run the SPVUnlock program it gets to %66 complete then says "Invalid Code - Aborting." What am i doing wrong, none of my mates have this phone so the conventional 'use another sd card to get the v.99.....' solutions are non-workable. When in the canary screen the number is mv1.10. i have tried all the unlock programs I have managed to download at work but no joy as yet!! Can anyone help me???????????????
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Welcome to the site :) You have to use the SIMunlock V2 (found in the sticky post in the HTC section) Also you must have Win XP or 2k on your PC as older versions of Windows do not have the USB driver support needed for the app to run.
Guest wwwwww Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 cheers for that I ran it and got a code immediately!! However, now the phone turns on and goes straight to bootloader screen is it knackered or saveable? It did not crash durin rom upgrade as I was using the pc all the time, and it completed and was working ok. I turned it off to change the simcard, turned it on and.........! I believe the situation was described before as "an expensive paperweight" am i now the proud owner of this piece of stationery?! Please offer any lines of help available.
Guest martin Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 Try a hard reset first. Note: The phone will take much longer to boot up first time (several minutes) so leave it for a while. If it still fails then re-run the rom update from the canary screen. Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 And don't play with updates or unplug the phone when running updates :) As in my email as long as you can get to the canary screen the phone can be saved.
