Guest ldanger7 Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 My i600's * button doesn't change the input type. It is currently stuck in the numbers only option. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Currently I am not able to enter any text when I am not connected to a cpu, this is very frustrating! Thanks in advance, L
Guest punkdork Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 I'm having the same problem. Holding * does not help at all. The input mode indicator is completely missing.
Guest nickcornaglia Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 Try creating a new contact. When you chane to different fields, the input method should change from ABC to 123 appropriately. If this does not work then I would suggest a HARD RESET, the mother of all fixes. Sounds like something is corrupted.
Guest Will Posted May 10, 2004 Report Posted May 10, 2004 sounds like the udb file containing t9 and some other bits has become 'corrupted' maybe another 600 owner would email his udb file so you can try out swapping them. (based on the fact that when i played with the udb file, i was only able to use numbers until i restored the backup i made) Will
Guest punkdork Posted May 11, 2004 Report Posted May 11, 2004 Replacing it didn't work so I deleted the T9 UDB and rebooted the phone. A semi-hard reset occurred (default home screen and sounds, etc.) occurred and the abc and t9 modes are back and all my apps still work. Thanks for the suggestion! :)
Guest Will Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 interesting i'll log that in the memory banks to help others! Good to see it sorted the problem out! Will
