Guest phildrudge Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Now then. I have a situation out of fawlty towers to explain. I had an e100 for the last year, which i was quite happy with. seemed alright, apart from the usual gripes. My contract ran out in january so i thought i would upgrade to an e200. What a mistake. The damn thing buzzed so loudly in was unuseable. So i took it back, and the shop replaced it for me. The replacement did exactly the same thing. So i took it back, only to be told that a replacement would not solve the problem, and i was going to have to live with it until my contract was finished. Obviously i wasnt best chuffed about this and i kicked up a bit of a fuss and eventually got them to take the phone back and cancel the upgrade alltogether. "Wonderful" i thought. I can now go back to using my e100 until i get a better one! I was told that my old sim card would spring back into life and all would be well with the world. Unfortunately, thats not quite what happened. I got home, dug out my old phone, charged it up, merrily went out and promptly lost it. Bum. So i go to the police, get a lost property number, go home and phone orange. In the process of answering all the daft questions (which pocket did you have it in?? why does that matter?) i noticed he said that he would send out a new e200. hang on.... i want an e100, not a e200. So i ask the question. Naturally on his system he has no details of the contract being cancelled or any contact with me whatsoever. This leaves me in an interesting position. I'm now in a contract that i don't want, for a phone that i don't have, with insurance that i can't use. Not the best huh!! My only option is to get in contact with the orange shop i sorted it all out at and get them to fax over the confirmation of the contract cancellation. No problemo says I! Ah, the only problem, the orange shop's phone line cuts you off after 3 rings saying that the other person has cleared?? never heard of that one before! and according to CS the shop doesnt actually exist. A little bizarre huh. My contract is still running for an e200 that i dont have and there is no evidence of anything changing!! i'm getting a little frustrated!
Guest moo_ski_doo Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 How did you manage to get a contract with an E100 which ran out in January? The E100 didn't even come out until about last August! As for your problem tho, looks a bit annoying, no idea what's going on there!
Guest phildrudge Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 i had an origional spv when they first came out then claimed on the insurance last november or so. they told me that the spv was no longer in production so they replaced it with an e100!!! woooo result!
Guest squall Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 cant you go into the shop? kick up a bit of a fuss with them again I to have a spv e100 with an expired contract. Word of warning, the orange warrenty covers the year from the issuing of the first phone, not the date of replacements, and O wont do emergency replacements on p&g phones.
Guest phildrudge Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 but surely the orange care should cover whichever phone is registered on my contract at the time? isnt that what i am paying for? I'm going in to the shop in the morning to try and sort it out, i still can't get through on the phone. its really annoying!
