Guest tony_man Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Hey YA! Huch space do you actually get on a 8Mb SD card My SPV E200 (mmmm) only shows 6.4Mb. Is this correct??? T
Guest nickweb Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 yeah, why is that? I got a 256 Mb one and its stole a good couple of Mb's from me! :)
Guest kjk Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 i don't know why i've 128MB but it's show just 122MB maybe card need some memory to be fomated
Guest mcwarre Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 The calculations are all marketing ploys. A MB is actually 1048B. The manufacturer quotes a MB as 1000B. Hence on a 256 'MB' (their claim) is actually 256,000B. Turn this into actual MB = 256,000/1048 = 244MB. Similarly a 128 'MB' is actually 122.137MB (128,000/1048). Hope that helps to clear things up....
Guest nickweb Posted March 15, 2004 Report Posted March 15, 2004 yeah. I remeber doing that in computing. Heres me still thinking that 1kb = 1024b.. Ah well.. Standards, eh? Who needs em?
