Hey YA!

Huch space do you actually get on a 8Mb SD card

My SPV E200 (mmmm) only shows 6.4Mb.

Is this correct???

yeah, why is that? I got a 256 Mb one and its stole a good couple of Mb's from me! :)

i don't know why

i've 128MB but it's show just 122MB

maybe card need some memory to be fomated

The calculations are all marketing ploys.

A MB is actually 1048B. The manufacturer quotes a MB as 1000B.

Hence on a 256 'MB' (their claim) is actually 256,000B. Turn this into actual MB = 256,000/1048 = 244MB. Similarly a 128 'MB' is actually 122.137MB (128,000/1048).

Hope that helps to clear things up....

yeah. I remeber doing that in computing. Heres me still thinking that 1kb = 1024b..

Ah well.. Standards, eh? Who needs em?
