Guest scott2eyes Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 A while ago, at the end of a night on the sauce, I have a vague memory of logging onto MoDaCo, seeing something that looked interesting and trying to edit the registry... Luckily no serious damage was done; I haven't got a clue what I was trying to achieve other than a vague feeling it was to do with ringtones, but now when I get SMS messages, the vibrate seems to be going on for longer than I seem to remember it doing before- 1 long buzz for about 3-4 seconds, which is starting to irritate me. Can anyone tell me how to change the settings for this- ideally to make it do two or three short pulses when I get a message?
Guest drblow Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 In midnights tweaks post (which I think comes up when you click on Tweaks) it'll tell you how to re-edit the registry to return the vibrate to normal.
Guest scott2eyes Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 Hmm- seems the MPx200 is set up differently, as the registry entries that I had to change weren't there! After a bit more hunting around, I found this one which is similar and seems to have done the job; HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/SoundCategories/Notification/Script The value was set to v3- changed it to v1w1v1w1v1p, which makes it buzz for a second & wait for a second 3 times, then plays the sound. Sober and with a PC it took me a while. Drunk, with one eye closed and using Pocket IE and my memory to remember what to change- I didn't stand a chance! There is definitely a moral to this story- RegEdit should have the software equivalent of a childproof cap!
